Keeping in mind the increasing demand from aspiring teachers for Pre -School Education, coaching the Pre-Primary Teacher Training Course was started. The course aims at providing a comprehensive knowledge of theory and practical training in Pre-School Education to teachers.

PRACTICAL WORK
SEMESTER I
- Observational visits to selected preschools following different approaches to child education.
- Institutional visits to different organizations in the field of child health, nutrition and child education.
- Creative work experience to help the trainees to work with different art and craft material to understand the value of creative activities for effective teaching in a preschool.
- Compilation of stories, rhymes and games for preschool children.
- Preparation of teaching aids and their use in learning.
SEMESTER II
PRACTICE TEACHING
Practice Teaching is an integral part of the practical work in the ATTC course. In Semester –II, the teacher trainees are placed in selected preschools for intensive practice teaching for a period of 45 days. In addition to practising teaching, students are given assignments to prepare different types of teaching aids, plan and organize a Parent and Community Education program
Creative learning through puppets
Assessment of Performance
The performance of the students in theory and practical work is assessed periodically throughout the two semesters through a system of internal grading and viva-voce. On the successful completion of the internal assessment and the viva-voce, the students are eligible to appear for the campus recruitments.

Attendance
Attendance and punctuality are a part of professional responsibility essential for teachers. The minimum requirement of attendance is 80% in each theory subject and practical work.
